“Who is representing the people? Challenges of representative democracy” –
This very actual topic we discussed at the 29 th Wednesday Social in Berlin/Germany with Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, the President of the Bundestag.
In his speech Lammert emphasized his strong support for representative democracy. He gave an insight in his critics about plebiscites and raised some very important questions. Prof. Dr. Lammert spoke about how he thinks both concepts could and how they should not be connected.
Politics is not about searching for the truth it’s about finding the balance between interests.
Prof. Dr. Lammert has a reputation as an excellent speaker, and rumours are true. If you want to see with your own eyes, have a look at the full speech. It’s available only in German.
